The Steckholzer farm PDF Print E-mail

The oldest house in Padaun is the Steckholzer. The first allude is from 1313. The Hotel is today in the 6th generation of the family. Renovated between 2002 and 2004 it is now a state of the art Hotel with comfortable old flair.The possesors Martina and Daniel Wolf welcome you warmly.


The animals

In the stable are 30 cows. 8 are milkcows, the others are young cattles. Also some pigs and cats are around.
Daniel is a successful raiser of old tirol brown cows. So his cow "Vroni" was elected 2003 for "Miss Wipptal".
The cows are in the summer time outside. They climb up to the mountains up to 2300 m. They stay there until september.



The agriculture

We have 15 ha grassland, which are cut twice a year. 6,5 ha are mountain grassland which can only be cut once a year.
But also potatoes are growing.
Additionally we farm ca. 6,5 ha forest.

Tirol cows with old fences, which are here in Padaun very unique.
